
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (March 23, 2026) — Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department responded to a series of incidents across the city on March 22, including thefts, a crash with injuries, and an arrest involving an impaired driver.
Police were first called to Fairway Avenue Sunday morning for a complaint, with that investigation still ongoing.
Shortly after, officers responded to Gilmore Street for a vandalism complaint that includes allegations related to improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation. Authorities say that case remains under investigation.
Later in the day, officers were dispatched to a business on River Trace Lane, where loss prevention reported a theft at Walmart. That case is also still being reviewed.
In the early evening, police responded to a crash at East 8th Street and South Bridge Street involving injuries. The incident includes possible charges of leaving the scene and driving under suspension, and remains under investigation.
Additional calls included a disorderly conduct complaint on South Watt Street and a reported protection order violation on Cleveland Street, both of which are still under review.
One of the more serious incidents occurred late Sunday night when officers were called to a business on East Main Street for a possibly impaired driver. Police say an arrest was made, with charges including operating a vehicle under the influence while endangering children.
The day concluded with another disorderly conduct complaint on Jefferson Avenue involving reported threats.
In total, eight incidents were reported, reflecting a steady day of calls for service ranging from traffic-related offenses to more serious criminal investigations.
