CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (March 21, 2026) — Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department responded to a wide range of calls throughout the day on March 20, including domestic disputes, theft investigations, arrests, and traffic enforcement.
The day began early when officers were dispatched around 2:45 a.m. to a residence on Vine Street for a reported domestic dispute, which was classified as disorderly conduct.
Throughout the morning, officers conducted multiple traffic stops along North Paint Street near Water and Main streets, issuing citations related to stop sign violations and right-of-way infractions.
Police also responded to a parking complaint on North Bridge Street late in the morning, where an investigation remains ongoing.
One of the more notable incidents occurred at a business on North Bridge Street, where officers were called to investigate the theft of a credit card at a tobacco shop. That case includes allegations of criminal trespass and theft, and remains under investigation.
Around noon, officers were dispatched to Sherman Park for a welfare check involving a man reportedly attempting to drink bleach. The situation was handled as a disorderly conduct incident involving intoxication.
Additional calls included a criminal trespass complaint on South Douglas Avenue and a non-criminal 911 call at McArthur Gardens, both of which remain under investigation.
Later in the afternoon, officers made an arrest on East Second Street after locating an individual with an active warrant.
In the evening hours, police assisted Ross County authorities with a theft investigation at a business on Western Avenue. That case also involves criminal trespass and is still being reviewed.
Officers also responded to a large fire on Dayton Street, where a summons was issued for open burning violations.
The day concluded with a late-night traffic stop on North Plaza Boulevard, where a driver was cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license.
In total, 13 incidents were reported, highlighting a busy day for local law enforcement as officers handled a mix of criminal complaints, public safety concerns, and routine enforcement actions.
