
LANCASTER, Ohio – A Lancaster man was killed following a single-vehicle crash Friday morning in Fairfield County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Lancaster Post responded to a call at approximately 10:11 a.m. on January 30, 2026, reporting a crash on State Route 37 near milepost 14.
Investigators said a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 75-year-old Frank Acton of Lancaster was traveling southbound on State Route 37 when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The truck came to rest at the base of the embankment.
Acton was transported by emergency medical services to Fairfield Medical Center with injuries sustained in the crash. He was later transferred to Mount Carmel East, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Lancaster Police Department, Lancaster Fire Department and EMS, and Unlimited Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
