
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a wide range of incidents across the city on Sunday, Jan. 19, according to the department’s daily media report.
Just after midnight, officers initiated a traffic stop on a bicycle near East Water Street and North Sugar Street for lacking a rear light. During the stop, police reported discovering drug abuse instruments and confirming an active warrant.
Later in the early morning hours, officers identified a male with an outstanding warrant in the area of East Second Street and Sugar Street. The individual was taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
Police were also dispatched to 243 South Hickory Street in response to a reported vandalism and criminal trespass. That investigation remains open.
Several non-criminal complaints were logged throughout the day, including a report of extended parking near a school on Vine Street, a missing person complaint on Neal Avenue, and a general complaint at a River Trace Lane address.
At approximately 8:19 a.m., officers responded to the Central Center regarding a theft complaint in the 400 block of East Second Street. A criminal mischief complaint was also reported later in the morning on North Renick Avenue.
Additional calls included a criminal trespass complaint at the Pilot Gas Station on East Main Street, an unruly juvenile complaint at Donatos Pizza on North Bridge Street, and a report of a deceased individual on Clay Street, which was classified as non-criminal.
In the evening, officers responded to an incident at Harbor Freight on North Bridge Street involving an assault-related complaint. Police issued a summons, and no further action was reported.
Later that night, officers were dispatched to Warner Avenue for a disorderly conduct complaint and to Poland Park on South Hickory Street, where a male trespassing was found to have an active warrant and was arrested.
The day concluded with officers responding to a traffic crash at the intersection of High Street and Water Street. That investigation is continuing.
In total, Chillicothe police logged 15 incidents throughout the city on Jan. 19.
