CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Nearly 300 foster children experienced a memorable holiday celebration thanks to the generosity of staff from the Chillicothe Correctional Institution and Ross Correctional Institution during their annual Curtain Climbers Christmas event.

Officials said 297 foster children received Christmas gifts while enjoying an evening filled with games, food, and holiday cheer, all made possible through donations and volunteer efforts from staff at both institutions.

In the spirit of giving back, organizers ensured that all leftover food from the event was donated to the Ross County Community Action homeless shelter, extending the impact of the celebration beyond the event itself.

Community leaders praised the institutions for dedicating their time and resources to support children and families in need during the holiday season.

The annual Curtain Climbers event continues to serve as a reminder of the positive role community partnerships can play in making the holidays brighter for local children.
