WILLIAMSPORT, Ohio — The Village of Williamsport’s fiscal officer has resigned just one day before village officials were scheduled to hold a special meeting to consider her removal from office, amid a months-long sexual harassment lawsuit involving village leadership.
On December 21, 2025, Tracey Garrett confirmed that she had resigned from her position as fiscal officer. Her resignation came on the eve of a previously announced special meeting set for December 22, during which village officials planned to discuss her possible termination.
The situation could stem from a lawsuit filed by Garrett against the Village of Williamsport, in which she alleges ongoing sexual harassment by Mayor Bush dating back to 2023. In the lawsuit, Garrett claims the village failed to take appropriate action after she reported the alleged harassment.
Mayor Bush has denied the allegations and filed a counterclaim against Garrett. In his filing, Bush contends that Garrett became “obsessed” with damaging his reputation after he raised concerns about her job performance as fiscal officer.
Both Garrett and the Village of Williamsport remain involved in the legal proceedings. The case is currently scheduled to move forward in court in March.
Village officials have not yet commented publicly on how Garrett’s resignation will impact the pending lawsuit or future fiscal operations.
