Thanksgiving arrives on Thursday, Nov. 27, and while many major retailers and services will shut down for the holiday, shoppers can still find select stores, restaurants, and essential services operating with limited hours.

Large national chains including Walmart, Target, Costco, Sam’s Club, Best Buy, Kohl’s, and Home Depot will all be closed on Thanksgiving. Banks, post offices, shipping carriers, and the U.S. stock market will also observe the holiday, with normal operations resuming Friday and the markets closing early on Black Friday.

However, not everything will be shut down. Restaurants such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, Waffle House, IHOP, and Cracker Barrel will be open—many with adjusted hours. Several grocery chains, including Kroger, Whole Foods, Meijer, and Giant Eagle, will offer limited hours for last-minute food and ingredient needs, though closing times vary by location.
