LOGAN, OH – A Logan man struck it big with a $150,000 prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $5 Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 50x scratch-off game — and the win came completely by surprise.
The lucky winner bought his ticket “on a whim” at Station 177 Food & Fuel, located at 37363 Rocky Boots Way in Logan, before heading back to his car to pump gas and start scratching.
His wife, sitting beside him, encouraged him to “keep scratching” as the numbers revealed the game’s second-tier $150,000 prize. The couple said they were both in shock after realizing they had won.
Currently in the process of building a new home, the winner said the unexpected windfall will help cover the costs of finishing the project. After federal and state tax withholdings, he will take home approximately $109,312.
The Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 50x scratch-off still has one $500,000 top prize and several other prizes remaining. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.66.
