Chillicothe Police Respond to Series of Thefts, Crashes, and Welfare Calls on October 10

CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a busy slate of incidents on Friday, October 10, 2025, according to the department’s daily media report. Officers responded to a variety of calls including thefts, crashes, and welfare checks across the city.

The day began just after midnight when an officer initiated a traffic stop at Water Street and Fairview Avenue, resulting in a citation for a driving under suspension violation.

Around 3:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to 760 N. Bridge Street after receiving reports of an individual making suicidal threats. Later that morning, police were called to Chipotle on Western Avenue regarding a hit-skip crash.

A number of theft investigations were opened throughout the day, including:

  • West 5th Street – a reported theft without consent.
  • South Paint Street – another theft complaint, investigation ongoing.
  • River Trace Lane – reports of theft and criminal trespass.
  • Jerry’s on Paint (319 S. Paint Street)theft from a vehicle.
  • Poland Park on South Hickory Streettheft report, under investigation.

In addition to the thefts, officers handled non-criminal calls for a missing wallet at the Law Enforcement Complex lobby, a trespassing complaint on Scioto Avenue, and several traffic-related crashes across the city.

At 2:36 p.m., an officer responded to North Bridge Street for an open container violation, while another call at North Bridge and Bridge Street intersections involved a failure to yield resulting in a crash.

Two individuals were also located at the Ross County Jail with active warrants through the Chillicothe Municipal Court.

That evening, police responded to Porter’s Car Bar on North High Street for a vehicle crash involving a driver traveling the wrong way on a one-way street. Officers also handled a disorderly conduct complaint at the Law Enforcement Complex earlier in the night.

In total, 21 incidents were recorded for the day, with several investigations still ongoing.
