
CIRCLEVILLE, OH — A Lancaster man was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 56 West in Jackson Township, according to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey.
At approximately 3:54 p.m. on October 4, 2025, the Pickaway County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a serious crash in the area between McClean Mill Road and Grice Road.
Deputies determined that a 2007 white Honda Shadow motorcycle, driven by 29-year-old Johnny R. McClarren Jr. of Lancaster, had been stopped westbound, waiting to turn into 6651 State Route 56 West, when it was struck from behind by a 2019 white Chevrolet Cruze driven by 38-year-old Tracy L. Brigner II of Circleville.
McClarren was pronounced dead at the scene by WADES EMS. Brigner was transported to OhioHealth Berger Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Sheriff Hafey expressed his gratitude to WADES EMS, South West Pickaway Fire, Circleville Fire and EMS, and Pickaway County Coroner Dr. Seth Yates for their assistance at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
