Chillicothe Police Handle Assault, Thefts, Warrants, and Disorderly Conduct Cases Thursday

CHILLICOTHE — Chillicothe Police officers responded to 16 incidents on Thursday, October 2, including an assault arrest, multiple warrants, traffic violations, and late-night disorderly conduct.

The day began just after midnight when an officer was flagged down on North Bridge Street for an assault. An arrest was made at the scene. Later in the morning, officers served several warrants, including one at Ross County Juvenile Court and another on East Main Street.

At 10:52 a.m., police investigated a traffic accident involving a driver who failed to yield the right of way while turning left. Around the same time, officers responded to South Douglas Avenue for a traffic stop and to East Main Street for a reported theft, which remains under investigation.

In the afternoon, officers handled a hit-skip crash on East Main Street, investigated a possible death on South Rose Street, and were dispatched to West Water Street for a disorderly female tied to a warrant. Several additional warrant-related incidents were also reported throughout the day.

Police were called to South Hickory Street at 5:57 p.m. for a criminal trespass involving a protection order, and later to North Sugar Street for a traffic stop after an SUV ran a stop sign.

The busiest calls came late in the evening. At 10:24 p.m., officers responded to East Main Street for a report of public indecency and disorderly conduct involving an intoxicated individual. Just after 11:30 p.m., they were dispatched to McArthur Gardens on Columbus Street for a criminal mischief complaint connected to a possible burglary. That case remains under investigation.
