PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH – Pamela Moody, a longtime CASA volunteer from Pickaway County, has been honored as Ohio CASA’s 2025 Pro Star Volunteer of the Year. The award was presented at the 30th Annual Celebrate Kids! Conference on September 25, which drew more than 700 CASA volunteers, attorneys, and child advocates from across the state.

Moody has dedicated 12 years of service as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, advocating for 46 children in Pickaway County.
“We have so many children out there that are abused and neglected and need the help,” Moody said. “I like to stand up for them. It’s important that the judge knows how the child is thinking, feeling, and what their wishes are.”
Pickaway County CASA nominated Moody for the Pro Star Volunteer award, noting her tireless dedication.
“Pam is constantly working for the best outcome for the child,” said Pickaway County CASA Director Cindy Ramey. “She participates in fundraising events, recruits new CASA volunteers, assists them on visits, and even helps with visits for other volunteers in emergency situations. Pam does anything and everything that is asked of her by the CASA program.”

In addition to her courtroom work, Moody raises awareness of CASA’s mission throughout the community and online. “I’m always advocating,” she said. “I put something on Facebook every day about volunteering. If you want your heart to dance and be blessed—be a CASA volunteer.”
Pickaway County CASA, established in 1990, supports and promotes volunteers who ensure children experiencing abuse and neglect have the opportunity to thrive. To learn more or become a CASA volunteer, visit PickawayCountyCASA.org.
