
CHILLICOTHE – The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a series of incidents on Saturday, September 20, 2025, ranging from traffic stops to theft reports and warrant arrests.
- Traffic Stops:
Around 1:00 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle near Bridge Street and Riverside Street for fictitious plates. The driver was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and was also found to have an outstanding warrant.
Just minutes later, at 1:15 a.m., another stop was conducted on South Douglas Avenue. The driver was cited for driving under suspension related to unpaid child support and fines, along with expired plates. - Theft Report:
At 5:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 70 block of Vincent Street regarding a reported theft. The case remains under investigation. - Criminal Trespass and Mischief:
Police responded to a trespassing complaint at a residence on West Water Street at 8:06 a.m. Later, at 8:34 a.m., officers were called to North Bridge Street for a criminal mischief complaint. Both cases are under review. - Disorderly Conduct:
At 2:07 p.m., officers were called to Back Road for a disorderly conduct complaint involving fighting or threatening behavior. - Warrant Arrests:
At the Ross County Jail, deputies served Tommy Welch with a Capias warrant for probation violation related to a prior protection order case. Welch is being held in lieu of bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 22.
Later, at 8:35 p.m., police served another warrant on a male already incarcerated at the jail. - Traffic Crash:
At 5:41 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of North Bridge and East Second streets for a crash involving a driver who allegedly failed to obey a traffic control device.
Police reported handling a total of 10 cases throughout the day. Several remain under investigation.
