CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The Pickaway County Library, in partnership with the Pickaway Health Network, will host its first Memory Café on Wednesday, October 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library.

The event is designed to support individuals living with dementia and their care partners by providing a safe, welcoming space to connect, socialize, and enjoy engaging activities together. This month’s theme is “Fall into Fun!” featuring autumn-themed games and activities meant to spark conversation, encourage teamwork, and most importantly, bring joy.

A Memory Café is a growing concept across the country, offering people with memory loss and their loved ones an opportunity to build community while exercising their minds. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 6 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia. Social programs like Memory Cafés are proven to help reduce isolation, stimulate memory, and improve quality of life.

“No registration is required—we just want people to come, enjoy themselves, and know they are not alone,” organizers said.

The program will continue monthly, with future sessions offering different themes and activities.
