
Chillicothe police officers responded to a series of incidents across the city on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, ranging from routine traffic stops and warrant services to theft investigations and harassment complaints.
- Early Morning Activity: Around 5:25 a.m., officers made a citizen contact on East 2nd Street that resulted in a drug paraphernalia and warrant case. A short time later, police responded to a possible theft at the Chillicothe City Pool on Enderlin Circle. That case remains under investigation. Officers also took a harassment complaint on Ervin Avenue just after 7 a.m.
- Traffic Enforcement: Multiple drivers were cited throughout the morning for violations, including failure to obey traffic control devices, fictitious plates, driving under suspension related to financial responsibility and child support cases, and texting while driving. One driver was stopped for making a restricted U-turn.

- Warrants Served: Officers served several warrants during the day. At 12:19 p.m., police arrested Gretchen Echard at a residence on South Paint Street on a probation violation warrant. She was transported to the Ross County Jail and is scheduled for a court appearance on September 10. Additional warrant cases were handled on North Paint Street, near Donato’s on North Bridge Street, and elsewhere in the city.
- Theft and Harassment Reports: Police investigated theft reports from St. Andrews Boulevard and Walmart on River Trace Lane. A telecommunications harassment complaint was also filed at the Law Enforcement Center, while officers were called to Adena Health on Capital Drive to investigate a protection order violation.
- Other Calls: Officers were dispatched to East Main Street for a found property report, to Lincoln Park on West 7th Street after a juvenile reported being assaulted, and to Western Avenue to assist another agency.
In total, Chillicothe police logged 19 reports on September 9. Several cases remain under investigation.
