CHILLICOTHE, OH – Ross County Auditor Jeff Lehner announced today that tentative property values for 2026 are now available for public viewing on the Auditor’s website.
The update is part of the county’s 2025 reappraisal process, required by the Ohio Department of Taxation. Lehner said the new values reflect recent sales data and aim to ensure fair and market-appropriate assessments, including commercial properties.
“This is the next step in our process to comply with the Ohio Department of Taxation’s mandates for our 2025 reappraisal while ensuring an equitable aggregate valuation for Ross County,” Lehner said.
Property owners can check their tentative 2026 values by searching their parcel on the Auditor’s website and scrolling to the “Valuation” section. The proposed figures, listed under “2026 (Tax Year 2025),” are highlighted in yellow for easier review.
To help residents with questions or concerns, the Auditor’s office will host informal review sessions the week of September 22. Appointments are available by phone or in person and can be scheduled online through a link on the Auditor’s homepage or directly at SignupGenius.
“These values represent our first pass through the state’s mandates for total valuation increases according to market sales data over the last three years,” Lehner said. “I strongly encourage every Ross County taxpayer who wants to discuss their proposed 2026 value to reach out, and we will ensure everybody who wants one receives a fair hearing as we move toward final adoption later this year.”
