Ross County — The Ross County Grand Jury met on Friday, July 25th, 2025. From testimony in one of the cases, according to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office:
On April 29th, a Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the One Stop gas station in Richmond Dale where a man had a disfigured swollen left cheek, blood on his lips, and was being treated by EMS. He did not have injuries on his hands.
The victim said he was at a gas pump and saw a friend at another pump, and went over to talk to him. But he noticed that another man with the friend was 41-year-old Jerrod D. Jenkins of Coalton, who the victim had issues with in the past.
The victim said Jenkins came up to him and punched him in the face. He fell down, and Jenkins kicked him. The victim was treated for cheekbone injuries at the hospital.
For indictments on second-degree felonious assault, Jenkins could get up to eight years and $15,000 in fines.
