
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a variety of calls across the city on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, ranging from domestic violence complaints to drug activity, disorderly incidents, and warrant arrests.
The day began around 5:47 a.m. when officers responded to a report of domestic violence at 105 Lincoln Park. That case remains under investigation.
Just after 7:30 a.m., police were called to S. Hickory Street near Poland Park on a report of drug activity. That investigation is also ongoing.
By 8 a.m., officers towed a vehicle on S. Hickory Street for parking where signs prohibited. Later in the morning, an accident report was filed, followed by a traffic stop on N. Bridge Street at 11:14 a.m. that led to charges of failing to file registration and not having a motorcycle endorsement.
At 11:22 a.m., officers investigated a menacing complaint on N. Shore Drive. Minutes later, another traffic stop was conducted on E. Water Street near Mulberry Street for a stop sign violation.
Later in the day:
- 2:19 p.m. — Officers responded to E. Main Street for a call.
- 3:40 p.m. — Police cited Kaleb Campbell for having an open container after he was spotted walking with a beer on Mulberry Street. He was issued a summons to appear in Chillicothe Municipal Court on August 25.
- 4:51 p.m. — A man was reported disorderly at Hometown Hibachi on N. Paint Street; the investigation continues.
That evening, officers arrested Joseph Nagley on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a criminal trespass charge. He was taken into custody at McArthur Gardens and transported to the Ross County Jail, where he will be held in lieu of bond until his August 21 hearing.
At 6:50 p.m., officers assisted the Ross County Sheriff’s Office after a disorderly intoxication complaint in the parking lot of Zane Tavern on Eastern Avenue, where a man was reportedly violent with EMS.
Additional calls included:
- A domestic incident at Carlisle Place around 8:30 p.m.
- A disorderly complaint at 94 W. Main Street at 9:06 p.m.
- A 911 hang-up leading to a disorderly conduct report at 574 E. Water Street at 10:12 p.m.
- Officers dispatched to King Street around 11:53 p.m. after a male reported being shot at with a BB gun.
Chillicothe police also completed a warrant pickup from Lawrence County Jail at 11:25 p.m.
In total, officers logged 18 cases on August 20, many of which remain under investigation.
