Circleville is set to delight families and movie enthusiasts with another fun Summer Movie Series at Ted Lewis Park, featuring a free outdoor screening of the beloved animated classic Shrek. The event is scheduled for Friday, August 8, 2025, promising a fun-filled evening under the stars.

The movie night will kick off at 7:30 p.m., with the film beginning at sunset, approximately 8:30 p.m. Hosted by the City of Circleville, the event will take place on the park’s lawn, where attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets for comfort. Snacks and water will be provided, courtesy of generous sponsors and volunteers, though attendees are welcome to bring their own treats as well.

The lineup of supporters includes The Friends of Ted Lewis Park, RJ Wright & Sons Ltd, OhioHealth, The United Methodist Church, and MegaBites, whose contributions are making this community gathering possible. “We’re thrilled to bring this family-friendly event to Circleville,” said a city spokesperson. “It’s a great way to enjoy the summer and connect with neighbors.”Shrek, the 2001 DreamWorks hit featuring the grumpy but lovable ogre and his quirky companions, is expected to draw a diverse crowd. The free admission and provided refreshments aim to ensure an inclusive experience for all ages. Organizers advise attendees to arrive early to secure a good spot and enjoy the pre-show atmosphere.

This event marks the start of the Summer Movie Series, with more screenings to be announced. Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars and join the fun, rain or shine, as the community comes together to celebrate cinema in the park.
