
CHILLICOTHE, OH — July 20, 2025 — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a range of incidents on Friday, July 19, according to the department’s daily media log. Officers responded to 11 calls across the city, including theft reports, a missing person case, and multiple traffic violations.
The day began shortly after midnight when an officer conducted a traffic stop on South Watt Street at 12:27 a.m., issuing a citation for a stop sign violation. Minutes later, at 12:44 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on Eastern Avenue. A report was taken, though no criminal activity was identified.
At 1:23 a.m., officers stopped a bicyclist on East Water Street due to missing bike lights. During the encounter, a warrant was discovered and executed.
Later in the morning, at 9:17 a.m., police were dispatched to an alley behind 160 North Sugar Street for a disorderly conduct complaint. The investigation is ongoing. A second disorderly conduct call came in at 10:47 a.m. on Hirn Street involving allegations of telephone harassment.
Around 2:35 p.m., officers responded to a non-injury motor vehicle crash at the Dick’s Sporting Goods on North Bridge Street. A citation was issued for improper lane usage.
At 3:31 p.m., a theft was reported at 28 North Paint Street. That investigation remains active.
Police were then called to 313 South Douglas Avenue at 4:42 p.m. for a missing and possibly endangered male. A report was filed, and no further details were released.
A theft and criminal trespass incident was reported at Walmart on River Trace Lane at 6:01 p.m. Officers are investigating that case as well.
Later in the evening, traffic enforcement continued with a citation issued on North Bridge Street at 8:36 p.m. for failure to file annual registration and operating a vehicle without valid credentials. The final report for the day was logged at 8:54 p.m. on West 6th Street, though no details were immediately available.
