Chillicothe Police Respond to Series of Incidents in Busy Day of Activity

CHILLICOTHE, OH – June 28, 2025 – The Chillicothe Police Department was dispatched to multiple calls across the city on Friday, June 27, ranging from thefts and warrants to assaults and disorderly conduct, according to the department’s daily media report.

Vandalism and Domestic Incidents
Officers began the day with a vandalism call at Sherman Park shortly after midnight. Just a few hours later, police responded to a reported domestic disturbance on St. Margaret Road and a criminal trespass on North Bridge Street.

High-Speed Chase and Traffic Incidents
A dramatic moment unfolded at 7:55 a.m. when an officer attempted to stop a Dodge Charger speeding through East Water Street. The driver reportedly fled the scene, initiating a chase. Later in the day, a crash involving a parked vehicle occurred on East 4th Street, resulting in OVI-related charges for the driver.

Thefts Reported Across Town
Police investigated theft reports at the Ross County Library on South Paint Street and Walmart on River Trace Lane. Both cases remain under investigation, with officers continuing to gather evidence.

Mental Health and Disorderly Conduct
Several calls involved individuals experiencing mental health crises or behaving erratically. Police responded to Shawnee Lanes Counseling Center, the Chillicothe City Pool, and locations on East 2nd and Akron Streets for reports of disorderly conduct. In some cases, arrests were made, while others resulted in referrals or ongoing investigations.

Warrants Served
Three individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants during the day. Among them was Kayla Miller, apprehended on South Douglas Avenue, who was held at the Ross County Jail pending a court appearance on June 30.

Bar Incident Results in Arrests
Later in the evening, officers were called to S Paint Bar and Grill after a disorderly subject fell and refused medical assistance. Two arrests were made in connection with the incident.

Assault and Late-Night Arrests
The day ended with officers responding to an assault in progress on North Brownell Street and serving another warrant along Blain Highway near the Pike County line.

In total, 21 incidents were recorded throughout the day, highlighting a wide range of calls that kept officers on the move across the city.
