
CIRCLEVILLE, OH – Emergency crews are responding to a vehicle submerged in floodwaters at the U.S. 23 North Court Street underpass, following heavy rain that caused significant flooding in the area.
According to initial reports, a two single vehicle drove into deep water that had collected beneath the underpass. The drivers became temporarily trapped inside the vehicle after it became submerged in the rising water.
Although no injuries have been reported, the Circleville Fire Department is en route with a rescue boat to assist at the scene.
As of now, North Court Street under U.S. 23 is closed to traffic. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while crews work to secure the scene and remove the vehicle.
Officials remind motorists to never attempt to drive through floodwaters, as conditions can quickly become dangerous or life-threatening.
