HARRISON TOWNSHIP, OH — A paramotor crash occurred close to the intersection of State Route 762 and Burgett Road on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at approximately 6:30 PM EDT, according to initial reports. The pilot, operating a motorized paraglider, made an emergency landing from about 50 feet in the air, prompting a swift response from emergency units.

There is a private airstrip in that area used by smaller aircraft.

A paramotor, also known as a powered paraglider or PPG, is a light, backpack-mounted aircraft that combines the simplicity of a paraglider wing with the freedom and range of powered flight. It’s essentially a motorized paraglider, allowing pilots to fly by running into the air, inflating the wing, and then soaring.

A 911 caller reported that the pilot sustained injuries but remained conscious following the crash.

Update – The Pilot was transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus he was in serious but stable condition.

Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
