CHILLICOTHE, OH (May 10, 2025) — A man wanted on five outstanding warrants was arrested Saturday evening after resisting arrest during a confrontation with Chillicothe police.
Around 5:20 p.m., officers patrolling the area of Fleet Street and Douglas Avenue attempted to take Preston Colter into custody. Authorities say Colter was known to have five active warrants at the time.
According to police, Colter did not go down without a fight. He allegedly resisted officers and attempted to obstruct their efforts during the arrest. Despite the resistance, police were able to take him into custody without serious injury to anyone involved.
Colter now faces additional charges, including obstructing official business and resisting arrest. His five warrants were all for theft in the area.
