Emergency crews responded to a serious motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon on Lancaster-Newark Road NE in Fairfield County, prompting a medical helicopter evacuation and a temporary shutdown of the roadway.
The incident occurred in the area of 13055 Lancaster-Newark Rd NE, where first responders quickly assessed the situation and called for an air evac helicopter due to the severity of the rider’s injuries.
As of this report, the condition of the individual involved has not been released. Authorities have shut down the roadway in the vicinity of the crash and are asking the public to avoid the area while emergency personnel continue their work and investigators examine the scene.
UPDATE – Medical decided to transport by ground to the closest hospital due to the 15-minute arrival time of the helicopter.
