
CHILLICOTHE, OH – May 6, 2025 — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents on Monday, May 5, including multiple warrant arrests, criminal mischief investigations, unauthorized vehicle use, and traffic violations, according to the department’s daily media report.
The day began at 5:25 a.m. with officers dispatched to North Paint Street to investigate an individual with an outstanding warrant. Later that morning, police were called to Sherman Park where a vehicle’s tire had been punctured in what is being investigated as a case of criminal mischief. Another similar mischief report was filed on East Main Street shortly thereafter.
Around 11:05 a.m., officers were called to Hirn Street in response to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, which remains under investigation. Traffic enforcement continued through midday, including a stop for texting while driving on East Water Street, and another traffic stop near City Park involving a motorcycle operator without the required endorsement, who also reportedly failed to maintain a safe driving distance.

Police were also dispatched to North Bridge Street following an auto accident near the Tumbleweed restaurant. No injuries were immediately reported, and the case is pending further investigation.
In the evening, officers made several warrant-related arrests. At 8:22 p.m., a man was taken into custody on railroad property on Toledo Street after his warrant was confirmed. A short time later, another individual with an active warrant was arrested while walking on Sycamore Street; he was later served a 60-day jail sentence related to a prior theft case.
Additionally, officers responded to North Sugar Street at 8:23 p.m. for a possible burglary, though that investigation is ongoing. Late that night, a subject with a Chillicothe PD warrant was taken into custody at the Ross-Pickaway County line and returned to Ross County Jail.
