
CHILLICOTHE, OH (May 5, 2025) — Chillicothe Police responded to a series of incidents throughout Sunday, May 4, 2025, ranging from traffic violations and thefts to a serious sexual offense investigation.
🔹 Key Incidents:
- Rape Investigation: Late Sunday night, officers were dispatched to Tiffin Towers on South Walnut Street for a reported rape. The case remains under active investigation.
- Domestic Violence & Strangulation: Around 8:25 p.m., police were called to Commanche Road regarding a domestic dispute involving strangulation and physical harm. The investigation is ongoing.
- Drug Possession Arrest: A man identified as Joseph Willett was stopped while riding a bicycle erratically on East Main Street and North Bridge Street. During the stop, he admitted to carrying needles in his backpack. He now faces charges for possession of Schedule I or II drugs.
- Warrant Arrest: Officers arrested a female suspect at Rural King on North Bridge Street on an active CPD warrant. The arrest followed a shoplifting complaint.
🚔 Additional Incidents:
- Theft from Vehicles: Multiple vehicle trespassing and thefts were reported on East Main Street and East Water Street, including vandalism at the Moose Lodge parking lot.
- Misuse of Credit Card: Police responded to another unit at Tiffin Towers for a complaint involving the unauthorized use of a credit card. This incident is under investigation.
- Shoplifting & Criminal Mischief: A shoplifting case was reported at River Trace Lane, and separate criminal mischief reports came from Columbia Avenue and other areas.
- Traffic Citations: Officers issued citations for various traffic violations, including speeding on West Main Street and driving without a valid license on East 8th Street.
- Disorderly Conduct: Police investigated a complaint at 10 N. Bridge Street related to disorderly conduct.
