CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The 6th Annual Kids Fishing Tournament wrapped up another successful year on Saturday, June 21, 2025, drawing a record 40 young participants to a day filled with fishing, fun, and community spirit, as reported at 3:15 PM EDT on Monday, June 23, 2025. Held at a canal supported by the Pickaway County Park District (PCPD), the event showcased an abundance of fish, turtles, and even a few crawdads, delighting attendees.

Each child received a brand-new fishing pole and a goodie bag, while raffle prizes, including fishing kits from Pan Fish Mafia LLC, added excitement. The day concluded with a hot dog lunch and an awards ceremony, where age-group winners for the most and biggest fish received trophies donated by The Savings Bank. Every participant was treated to free ice cream from Three Happy Hearts Ice Cream, and one lucky parent won a $50 gift certificate from Black Diamond Brewery & Distillery Taproom Circleville. Special thanks also went to Becky Poling for providing cookie trays.

The event’s largest sponsorship came from Amvets Post 2256 Circleville, contributing $1,500 to make this year the biggest yet, with their support dating back to the tournament’s inception. Longtime sponsor Dawn Cate Finch and new sponsor The Ogle Team Realtors were also recognized for their generosity. Additional thanks went to Ink My Logo for volunteer shirts, Roots Youth Group for honey sticks and suckers, and Community Lawn and Landscape for free weed control, ensuring a pristine venue.

The PCPD was lauded for providing the canal and ongoing support, making the event possible. Organizers expressed gratitude to all volunteers and participants, hoping to see everyone again next year.
