OHIO – South Central Electric Power is reporting that a scammer has called one of their customers and demanded payment or they would be shut off.
According to a post on South Central Power Co facebook, “We received a report today about a business in Canal Winchester that received a scam call demanding payment or be disconnected. The business was instructed to purchase express money at a local gas station and call the number back to pay.”
The Electric company says that they would never call and demand payment immediately, and they would never ask you to purchase express money at a local gas station and take payments in that fashion. This is a scam.
