Vice President of Pumpkin Show Makes Statement During Council Meeting

CIRCLEVILLE – Circleville Pumpkin Show is Six months away but some planning for the event is still going on, even with the possibility of adjustments made for the show.


Tonight during regular Circleville Council meeting council heard a ordinance that originated from Judicial Committee for authorization for The Pumpkin Show, INC to operate the annual “Circleville Pumpkin Show” on various streets and sidewalks of the city of Circleville.

During the third week in October Circleville Pumpkin show closes several downtown Circleville city blocks, adjustments to a state route and multiple residential roads are detoured.

This year with COVID-19 pandemic many festivals and fairs have already been cancelled, questions loom over the possibility of a Pumpkin show cancellation still. Vice President Barry Keller who also is a Circleville City Councilman spoke during tonights council meeting on this situation.

“Tonight’s Resolution authorizes the Annual Circleville
Pumpkin Show. This year’s show will be the 114 th Pumpkin
Show.

This is the normal timing to adopt this Resolution for
planning purposes.

The Pumpkin Show Committee will receive guidance from
State & Local Government Officials. Board of Health and
the OFEA (Ohio Festival and Events Association) for
guidance and “best practices” related to the COVID-19
pandemic.

Over the next 5 ½ months, the Pumpkin Show Committee
will monitor other fairs, festivals, the State Fair and other
large gatherings to help guide us in the best decision.” 

Councilman Barry Keller did abstained from the vote, the ordinance passed on its first reading 6-0
