UPDATE: Wanted Murder Suspect Captured with Charged Accomplice

ATHENS – Two suspects in todays murder investigation have been apprehended in Raleigh County, W.V. by the Raleigh County W.V. Sheriff’s Department. Dylan Secoy age 26 and Rachael Povosky age 18 are in custody. Secoy is charged with murder and Povosky is charged with complicity to murder. Both will be held in West Virginia until arrangements can be made for their extradition back to Athens County. Great work by APD and all the agencies that assisted

On Sunday, January 5, 2020, at approximately 5:08 AM, Athens Police were called to the area of 117 W. Washington St. in the city of Athens, for a report of a shooting. Officers arrived to find a male identified as Floyd Lester Hart, age 37, of Campbell Rd. Athens, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers and Athens County EMS personnel rendered aid to Hart and he was transported to O’Bleness E.R. Hart was pronounced dead at O’Bleness a short time after his arrival.

Athens Police are seeking information on the suspect in the shooting. Dylan Secoy, age 26, of Albany, Ohio. Secoy is described as being a white male, 6’00’’ tall, 200 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes. Secoy is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone having information on the whereabouts of Dylan Secoy should contact the Athens police department at (740) 592-3313. Athens police will be filing charges imminently. Athens police continue to investigate the incident and no further information is available at this time.
