UPDATE: One Person Flown to Columbus Hospital After Wreck in Fayette County

FAYETTE – The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle injury traffic crash that occurred Friday morning on in the 7000 block of S.R. #38NE in Paint Twp., Fayette County, Ohio. The crash was reported to the Sheriff’s Communications Center at 7:20 a.m.
​According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Anthony E. Wood, Age 58 of Washington Court House was traveling north on S.R. #38NE and struck the trailer area of a 2014 Freightliner semi tractor-trailer operated by Kevin R. Wallace, Age 44 of Springfield, Ohio. The semi tractor-trailer was backing into the driveway of a residence in the 7000 block of S.R. #38NE to make a delivery when the crash occurred.
​Mr. Wood was entrapped in his vehicle and was extricated by members of the Bloomingburg Paint-Marion Twp. Fire Department, Jefferson Twp. Fire Department, and the Sheriff’s Rescue Unit. Mr. Wood was airlifted from the scene by Med-Flight to a Columbus Trauma Center for medical treatment. Mr. Wallace reported no injuries in the crash. Mr. Wood’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
​No charges have been filed at this time as deputies continue their investigation of the traffic crash.
