UPDATE: Car Pileup in Ross Causes Thousands in Damages, Sends One to Hosptial

ROSS – A slippery road and a downward turn caused a vehicle pile up on Friday January 29th around 4:35 pm on Scott Rd. and Owl Creek road.

According to the Ohio state highway patrol, the wreck started when one vehicle on an icy hill lost control and slid sideways causing it to flip over. Several people who had seen the accident stopped to aid the driver and other vehicle traveling the road when they came down around the corner and the hill they were not able to stop due to the slippery conditions and hit parked cars that were assisting in the original accident.

Only one person was injured in the pile-up wreck and was transported to Adena in Ross county with minor injuries. In total seven vehicles were involved in the wreck.

Emergency squads had trouble getting the scene of the wreck and one officer reported having to walk over half a mile. The road was shut down for hours while tow trucks removed all the vehicles, some were able to be driven from the scene.

The accident is still under investagtion.
