CIRCLEVILLE – When people complained there was nothing to do in Circleville several entities stood up and said we can do something.  A idea was kicked around between Circleville Police, PARS, Circleville City Schools, and Faith Based Community to start a youth center and Foundations4Youth was born.  Shortly after formation two other entities shared the vision PICCA, and YMCA offering Super Fridays for the kids to get free swimming and lunch.  Located on the PICCA property at 469 East Ohio Street.

Foundations 4 Youth celebrated its one-year anniversary on April 9th with 77 youth and 12 adult volunteers in attendance. Since Foundations opened on April 4th, 2018 they have served over 4100 meals to local youth. Every Tuesday from 3-8 PM we offer games, sports, crafts, food, transportation and homework help. Our goal is to promote healthy beliefs and clear standards in a caring and supportive environment. The kids enjoy a good meal each week, thanks to the restaurants and individuals who provided food and baked goods for us.

We plan to offer character and skills building activities as we continue to improve opportunities for positive youth development. We cannot say a big enough “thank you” to all the donors. We have had so much community support we have meals scheduled up through July right now with only two open weeks! A big thank you to all the volunteers give their time and energy for the benefit of our kids, you are making a difference.

F4Y will be participating in some upcoming community events including a reward program, that will include activities such as field trips. With the growth we have experienced we are currently in contract talks for a larger facility! Please join us next week for scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast!

During the ribbon cutting Mayor Mcllroy said, “I hear we have to do something for our youth in this community, well I say we’ve done it.”
