OHIO – Scotts Miracle Grow who was founded 150 years ago and is headquartered in Marysville, Ohio close to where it was founded has donated 9,000 facemasks to the front lines of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The company that is 5,800 strong, says that, “stepping up during times of crisis is rooted in our values.” aimed their donations to three different locations to try to aid the hardest hit in the US with Covid-19.

3,000 face shields by plane to the Nassau County Police Department Foundation in Long Island, New York, 3,000 to the State of New York, and 3,000 more shields and distributed them in Southern California.

How did this idea come about? The city reached out to the company and asked if there was something they could do to help. Thats when the company shifted gears and instead of making spreaders and lawn equipment in the Temecula California plant, they shifted to making facemasks.

The company says this is was just this weeks and plans on expanding to more areas, ” “we’re planning to expand, Thursday was only our first shipment.”
