The Efficient Vikings Improve to 4-1

Coaches will tell you if you can win in all three phases of the game you are virtually unbeatable and for the Vikings they are proving just that. The Vikings outgained the Falcons 267 to 120 In total offense and had two special team scores on the night. Mcdanel led the Vikings with 106 yards rushing and 83 in the air. Efficient is the best word to describe this team, they do the little things right. The Vikings aren’t a flashy team that runs up and down the field, however they are a team that defends well and continues to improve every week. TV is hosting a 1-4 Dayton Dunbar Football Team in week 6.

Mustang Defense stifles Pioneers – Westfall goes to 3-2 on the Season

To hold a team that has beaten you 6 consecutive times is a good feeling, however beating that same team 38-6 and only allowing a total of 69 yards is a great feeling. Westfall came into Friday nights game trying to even up their record in the SVC against a struggling Zane Trace squad. They rushed for 218 yards on the night with Davis ripping off a total of 138. Whaley led the Mustangs through the air going 9-12 for 128 yards. Mustangs are getting hot and will be a tough out for anyone that plays them on the remaining schedule.

Hamilton Township stops Braves offense – Braves now 1-4

For the second week in a row the Braves offense has sputtered. Hamilton got off to a good start and controlled the game throughout. The Braves were only able to muster up 58 yards on the ground which ultimately made it even tougher for the passing game to get going. Reid led the offense on the ground with 68 yards. Logan Elm did play better in the second half which should help them next week against their rivals. The Braves host Circleville next week, although these teams have a combined record of 1-9 this game is always intense.

The 0-5 Tigers outmatched against Bulldogs

Bloom Carroll has got it rolling in 2019, and unfortunately the Tigers were in their way last night. The Bulldogs scored their first four touchdowns in the first quarter and never looked back. They are a very well coached team with a lot of great players in their skilled positions. It’s a tough matchup for anyone especially playing them at their place. The good news is the Tigers get to put that game behind them and look forward to those Braves of Logan Elm in their week 6 matchup.

The Aces fall hard to Waverly and go to 4-1

The Aces had a lot of momentum going into the Game at Waverly but were not able to solve the Tigers offense. Waverly put up 571 yards of offense in the route and only gave up 255. The streaky Tigers are a very good football team and showed it on all phases of the game last night. I thought this might be a trap game considering the Aces host the Bloom Carroll Bulldogs in week 6. The Aces play a good schedule and hopefully for them it helps them in league play. The showdown between the Aces and Bulldogs will certainly catapult one team to the top as favorites to win the league. The MSL is a three team race the Teays Valley will be very interested in the outcome of this one.
