SOUTH BLOOMFIELD – A local man is being aided by the American Red Cross after losing his mobile home to a fire Saturday evening in the village.

Keith French was cooking when the fire began about 4:33 p.m., according to Sgt. Robert Dauberman, South Bloomfield Police Department.

The most severe damage affected the kitchen area at the rear of the trailer. Though much of the remaining structure was saved, Dauberman said it likely will be considered a total loss.

The mobile home is situated in a small park located between McDonald’s and Speedway on U.S. Route 23.

The Harrison Township Fire Department handled the scene with the assistance of Scioto Township and the Circleville Fire Department.

Volunteers from the American Red Cross also responded to assist French with his emergency needs.
