A local business woman recently donated $1,775 to the Teays Valley Educational Foundation’s seventh annual auction event to be held at 6:30 p.m. March 21 at the clubhouse at Scioto Downs Racino.

Cindi Watkins, a realtor with Preferred Properties Real Estate Services, donated $25 for every closing she had in 2014 to the event.

“My belief is that investing in our future leaders is never a waste of time or money,” Watkins said. “I view this as a great way to give back to my community and the staff and students of Teays Valley.”

“Cindi is an example of a local business person who believes in giving back to our schools, and the success of the Foundation and the works we do is contingent on the generosity of people like her,” said Spencer Cheek, president of TVEF. “I hope our local businesses and community members will continue to see the value of donating to the Foundation.”

Tickets for the event are $30 for one or $50 for a couple. You will be entered for a number of door prizes, as well as the grand prizes, whether or not you are able to attend.

This year’s grand prizes include a $500 Meyers Jewelers gift card or a Fitbit. Scioto Downs will also give every person over 21 in attendance $25 in free play (good only for that night). Heavy appetizers will be served, and there will be a large Chinese auction and a mini silent auction.

Tickets are available at all of the Teays Valley schools or by contacting Julie DeLisio at [email protected] or 740-983-5048.
