Maggie L. Ward, our loving and caring mother, 89, of Frankfort, formerly of Chillicothe, died 5:32 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, in Valley View Care Center following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Hanging Rock, to the late Victor and Daisy Miller Porter.
On Jan. 10, 1944, she married Rev. Lloyd Ward, who died March 29, 2013.
Surviving are children, Gordon L. (Sharon) Ward of Londonderry, Stanley H. (Sharon) Ward of Floyd Knobs, Indiana, and Carmen D. (Roy) Kelley of Chillicothe; a daughter-in-law, Connie Ward of Circleville; grandchildren, Nathan (Carrie) Ward, Jarrod (Nichcole) Ward, Brad (Maggie) Walker, Danny (Jana) Walker, Jodee (Bryan) Klinglesmith and Brooke (James) Robinson; great-grandchildren, Alex Ward, Noah Reeves, Taylor Welsh, Bailey and Ruby Walker, Kasie, Lindsey and Alexis Klinglesmith, Shalia and Sophee Robinson; brothers, Mark B. Porter of Chillicothe and Van N. Porter of Londonderry; sisters, Zella Stevens and Juanita Wollenburg, both of Chillicothe; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Bart G. Ward; a brother, Paul Porter; and a sister, Pansy Irene Lewis.
Maggie was a member of Brookside Church, where she was very active in the Shut-in Ministries. She had worked as a nursing assistant at the Chillicothe Hospital and Adena Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, in the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, with Pastor Ron Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
