Elva Lee Blankenship, age 89, of Lancaster, passed away Aug. 26, 2015, at her residence at Carriage Court.

She was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Ravenswwod, West Virginia, to the late Charles and Mabel (Riffle) Bosworth.

Elva is survived by her children, Steve (Margie) Blankenship of Hebron, Linda (Jerry) Wemer of Amanda, Judy (Kenneth) Arnold of Buckeye Lake, Freda (Benny) Hartley of Lancaster and Connie (Scott) Perry of Groveport; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Edgar (Evelyn) Bosworth of Florida and Raymus Bosworth of Frankfort.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Blankenship; daughter, Genny Thorne; grandson, Joshua Hartley; granddaughter, Briana Whitaker; sister, Erma Ackerman; and brothers, Ronald, James and Francis Bosworth.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor James Dexter officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to acknowledge Elva’s longtime neighbors and friends, David and Mary Kay Murphy, as well as the kind staff at Carriage Court for their care of Elva during her stay.
