The 2015 Third Thursday Event Series concludes for the summer in downtown Circleville on Thursday, Aug. 20, with the annual “Blues, Brews & BBQ,” which features live blues music, cold brews and outstanding barbecue items from area eateries. They will be selling a variety of items, including BBQ ribs and brisket, wings, pulled pork sandwiches, and pizza.

Blues, Brews & BBQ will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Circleville at the City of Circleville parking lot at 120 E. Franklin St. In case of bad weather, the event will be held on the following night (Friday), or on Saturday.

While some seating is provided, everyone is welcome to bring lawn chairs to the Third Thursday Event Series. Admission is $5 ($1 for children ages 7-17), and the proceeds will benefit area non-profit organizations and the Pickaway County Welcome Center. Tickets for food, beverages and other food items will cost $1 each.

Participating eating establishments will include Box 65 Fish Fry, GMB Smokin’ BBQ, Gant’s Pizza & Pub (formerly Gio’s), Roosters, Stacey’s 5 Dollar Hollar, Stone’s Smoked Meats and the Tuscan Table.

Soft drinks, iced tea and other beverages will be sold by Partners For Paws. The South Bloomfield United Methodist Church will have ice cream, and Pickaway Manor will be offering snow cones. The Budweiser Beer tent will be on hand to sell a variety of fine beers as well. T

he Third Thursday Marketplace is back this year, featuring unique items for sale from area businesses, including Bath Fitter, Kitchen Saver, Origami Owl, the Seed House, Thirty-One and Uniquely Yours.

Entertainment will be provided by the great blues band, Pett Crow, a trio of young and talented blues musicians that are quickly making a name for themselves along the festival circuit and developing a strong following. They have a powerful, unforgettable stage presence, and play a big repertoire of blues and blues rock standards, as well as a good mix of their own originals. Brandon Pettiford (drums, age 15) has a phenomenal playing style that is expressive and active. Julia Crow (bass, age 16) is a multi-instrumentalist who played the piano and violin before finally landing on the bass while still in middle school. Front-man Wes Crow (guitar, harmonica, vocals, age 17) is a triple threat and his fretboard expertise channels the essence of many guitar greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, BB King, Carlos Santana, just to name a few.

The presenting sponsor this year is Coughlin Automotive, and financial support is also provided by business sponsors Amity Care Home Health, Balestra, Harr, & Scherer CPAs, Berger Health System, Budweiser, Cargill, Inc., the Circleville Herald, Citizens Land Title, Clean Image, the Columbus Dispatch, Dale Herron Illustration & Design, DeLong Insurance Agency, Fifth Third Bank, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, G.V.
