Russell W. Wintersheimer

Russell W. Wintersheimer, 98, of Chillicothe, died peacefully at 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in Heartland of Chillicothe.

He was born Aug. 3, 1916, in Chillicothe, to the late Harry and Monah Waits Wintersheimer.

On June 15, 1940, he married the former Wilma Herman, who died Jan. 1, 2014.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen (Philip) Malott of Chillicothe; sons, H. Russell (Judy) Wintersheimer of Jamestown and E. David (Dorothy) Wintersheimer of Kingston; a son-in-law, E. Eugene Kness of Lancaster; grandchildren, Chuck, Bill, David, Lori, Chet, J. Russell, Heather, Ryan, David Lee, Mark and Tina; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, Chloe, Stella and Georgia Kness; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Kness; a great-grandson, Adam Skinner; and a sister, Marie Wagner.

Russell was a member of the First Church of God. He retired in 1978 from the U.S. Shoe Factory where he had worked for 37 years.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, in the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, with Pastor Matt Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God, 780 E. Water St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
