A Leadership Academy seminar initially designed for supervisors has proved so successful that another installment will be offered for workers at all levels.

Dealing with Difficult People has been one of the more popular topics of the 2015 Leadership Academy, said instructor Janet Harkins.

“This topic is not just for leaders,” Harkins said. “Unfortunately, difficult people are everywhere: bosses, co-workers, clients and customers.”

Research shows that dealing with difficult people and maintaining ongoing negative relationships can be detrimental to one’s health. Participants will learn how to address difficult behaviors while maintaining a calm, professional manner.

Harkins and Sandy Hinton will lead the next session of Dealing with Difficult People from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Aug. 6, at Pickaway-Ross.

Harkins has extensive technical and administrative training experience in a production environment and has worked in purchasing, material flow, project management and supervision.

Hinton is a State of Ohio certified adult education instructor with 20 years of experience working in human resources.

The cost is $75 per person. Companies that send more than one person will receive a reduced rate of $50 for each additional person.
