– Extra patrol was requested in the 1200 block of South Pickaway Street. Information was obtained.

– A resident in the 1100 block of South Court Street reported finding a purse at the back of his property. The item was returned to its owner.

– A resident in the 200 block of Town Street requested an officer check the area after someone attempted to open her front window and was rattling the door knob. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

– Officers responded to two separate activated alarms in the 200 block of Watt Street. The scene checked OK.

– The Hocking County Sheriff’s Office requested officers deliver a message in the 100 block of West High Street regarding a possible stolen vehicle. The message was delivered.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 500 block of Northridge Road. The call was canceled by the alarm company.

– A resident turned in a driver’s license found during a morning walk on North Pickaway Street. The item was returned to its owner.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Roosters on U.S. Route 23. The call was canceled by the alarm company.

– An employee at Coughlin Automotive on U.S. Route 23 reported they found a purse on the property. A report was taken on found property.

– An officer traveled to the Pickaway County Jail to serve a warrant on Shannon Schwalbauch.

– A resident in the 200 block of Evergreen Avenue came to the police station to report a domestic violence incident. She had a hand injury but declined medical attention. A report was taken and charges were filed.

– A resident in the 300 block of Walnut Street came to the police station requesting a supervisor because he felt an assault report wasn’t handled properly. The resident left before the officer in charge could speak with him, and a sergeant was requested to make contact with him.

– A 911 caller reported he received a text message from his son in the 1200 block of Norfolk Avenue reporting a male was trying to get into the house, and he had a ball bat. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of East High Street reported her neighbor backed into her vehicle. A report was taken on a property damage accident.

– A resident came to the police station to turn in a wallet he found on Pickaway Street. A report was taken.

– A caller requested officers check the area of Apple Ridge Apartments on Lancaster Pike for a suspicious male who walked with a limp and was acting confused. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– The Circle Area Humane Society requested an officer stand-by in the 300 block of Walnut street to check on a dog. The stand-by was completed without incident, and the owner was served a warning for care of the animal.

– A resident in the 300 block of Weldon Avenue requested to speak with an officer about options regarding her daughter getting back on heroin and threatening to come get her children. The caller was referred to Children’s Services.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Berger Medical Mall on North Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– An employee at Dollar General on Lancaster Pike reported a suspicious vehicle westbound on East Main Street after the occupants were acting very suspicious in the store. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to reports of a domestic dispute in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue. Officers advised there was no dispute, and the female was advised to call back if the male returned.

– A caller reported an ATV riding up and down the street in the area of Barnes and Clinton streets. The ATV was located in the 300 block of Barnes Avenue, and all parties were advised.

– A resident in the 300 block of Barnes Avenue requested to speak with an officer regarding a PICCA resident who had been threatening other residents. A report was taken on threats or harassment.

– A resident in the 100 block of York Street reported a disturbance in the area, advising of several people arguing. The officer on the scene advised the argument was over child custody, and they were referred to their attorneys.

– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported she was trying to leave and her other half would not let her, but she was outside and he was throwing her belongings into the yard. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 900 block of South Washington Street due to an ongoing domestic situation. The district officer was advised.

– A resident in the 300 block of Wedgewood Court reported smoke coming from her vehicle, but no flames were showing. The fire department handled the scene.

– A resident in the 100 block of Edison Avenue reported someone got into his house and took items. A report was taken on burglary.

– Extra patrol was requested throughout the night in the 300 block of East Union Street due to construction equipment being out overnight. The district officer was advised.

– Extra patrol was requested in the area of Norfolk Avenue due to possible drug activity. The district officer was advised.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol requested assistance from the city’s canine unit during a traffic stop at Clinton and Huston streets.

– An employee at CVS on East Main Street reported possible child abuse that occurred in the pharmacy drive-thru, but the vehicle was already gone. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A resident in the 1000 block of Georgia Road came to the police station to report she believed she had been scammed and gave out her personal information. A report was taken on identity theft.

– A caller reported a bumper lying in the roadway at Scioto and Main streets and advised a vehicle struck three other parked vehicles in the area. No report was taken by request. The owner of the vehicle advised the incident occurred earlier and the subjects exchanged information.

– A caller reported she witnessed what she believed to be a heroin transaction at Duke and Duchess on East Main Street. Officers located one of the male subjects involved, and a report was taken on possession.

– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported his ex-girlfriend was harassing him. The caller was advised to block the number from his phone and to call police if it happened again.

– A caller reported it sounded like a dog was hurt in the back yard of a residence in the 300 block of Walnut Street. Officers were unable to locate the animal.

– Officers responded to reports of suspicious males walking along the railroad tracks on Hayward. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

– A 911 caller reported some kind of fight at the end of Hayward Avenue. Subjects were located, and a report was taken on a domestic dispute.

July 18

– Officers received a hit confirmation that Ashville Police were on a traffic stop with a vehicle entered as stolen. A report was taken.

– A caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly had just pulled into the Sunoco station on West Main Street, but the business was closed. Officers located the vehicle at the Route 23 overpass, and the driver checked OK. A warning was issued.

– A caller reported someone had been fighting for the past couple of hours in the 500 block of East Ohio Street. The subjects were located and advised they were aggravated about an incident that happened earlier.

– Robert Garrow of Columbus was arrested for possession of narcotics following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Mingo Street. A female was issued a warning at the scene.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 100 block of East Mound Street. The scene checked OK.

– An anonymous caller reported hearing a loud boom in the area of Clinton and East Ohio streets. Officers were unable to locate anything in the area.

– A caller reported a water line break in the 100 block of East Water Street. The water department was notified.

– A resident in the 100 block of East Franklin Street came to the police station to report high grass at a neighboring residence. He said he also was informed the residence was not livable due to mold. Information was obtained and forwarded to the nuisance officer.

– A resident in the 400 block of East Ohio Street reported a vehicle had been egged. A report was taken on criminal mischief.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ohio Heights on East Ohio Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 600 block of East Ohio Street reported a vehicle with a flat tire had been abandoned in her yard overnight. The vehicle was marked for a private property violation.

– An officer was flagged down in the area of Walmart and given a Fifth-Third debit card that was found at the property. The officer turned the item over to the bank.

– A resident reported a dog barking in the 900 block of Circle Drive. The dog warden was advised but unwilling to respond. The officer was unable to locate the dog.

– An employee at Budget Host Inn on U.S. Route 23 requested assistance in removing a male from the property who was refusing to leave. The stand-by was completed, and both parties were advised not to return.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 400 block of North Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 500 block of Bowers Court. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Ohio Street reported a male subject tried to steal her dog from the back yard and it bit him. Officers located a male subject matching the description in the 300 block of Barnes Avenue, but he advised he had not been bitten by a dog. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Scioto Valley Coffee on West Main Street. The scene checked OK.

– A caller advised she found an ID and Social Security card at Barthelmas Park on Kingston Pike. A report was taken on found property.

– Officers responded to reports of three suspicious males in the area of Sunset Drive. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office advised of a fire at a trailer on Skyline Drive in South Bloomfield. The fire department responded as mutual aid.

– A caller reported suspicious people in the back yard of a neighbor’s home. Officers advised the subjects were assisting someone at the property, and the scene checked OK.

– A caller reported a known male subject was intoxicated and had just driven away from Elsea’s Mobile Home Village on North Court Street. All units were advised.

– A caller reported a car in the gravel parking lot across from Wittich’s on West High Street with multiple people standing outside yelling and screaming at each other. All juveniles were picked up by their parents, and a report was taken on contributing.

– A caller reported two males riding skateboards on South Washington Street near the railroad tracks who appeared to be drunk or high. The caller advised one fell off his skateboard and landed in the roadway, and she almost struck him. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.
