Circleville Police Reports

July 9

– A resident in the 300 block of East Main Street reported his vehicle had been stolen. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol were advised. An officer then located the vehicle behind the caller’s house, advising the son took it, then brought it back. No report was taken.

– A resident in the 100 block of Rustic Drive reported a vehicle playing loud music in the area. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A resident in the 400 block of Watt Street reported he arrived home and noticed the console on his alarm system had activated earlier, and he requested an officer to check the house. Officers on the scene advised everything checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Circleville Middle School. Officer advised a maintenance person was checking a water leak reported the night before. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at J.R. Hooks on Watt Street. The scene checked OK.

– A caller requested an officer speak with a juvenile in the 400 block of Stella Avenue who is constantly on their property and damaging things. The caller also feared he would get hit by a vehicle. No one answered the door at the address given.

– An officer performed a stand-by for a landlord in the 600 block of East Mound Street. The stand-by was completed.

– A resident in the 100 block of York Street reported his juvenile daughter had run away again. A report was taken, and the female was entered into the LEADS system.

– A caller reported someone dumped three couches on the lot behind Gio’s on South Court Street. The tenant and landlord advised they would handle the problem, and no report was taken.

– Officers responded to an activated hold-up alarm at Duke and Duchess on East Main Street. Officers determined it was accidental, and the scene checked OK.

– An officer performed a stand-by in the 400 block of Half Avenue while a female retrieved her belongings from a residence.

– A caller reported a male subject was lying on the ground and shaking in the area of Mingo and Franklin streets. Caller then advised the male was no longer there, but she could show officers where he went. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a vehicle driving recklessly into town on U.S. Route 22 from Hargus Lake. Officers performed a traffic stop and advised the driver checked OK. The driver was issued a warning for a stop sign violation.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident in the 900 block of Circle Drive.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Cargill on West Main Street. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to a 911 caller who reported the call was accidental. Officers advised everything checked OK.

– A caller reported he clipped a parked vehicle’s mirror with his in the 200 block of North Court Street. A report was taken, and a door hanger was left on the parked vehicle.

– A resident in the 400 block of Watt Street reported someone hit his car at an unknown time. Officers advised it was not a hit-skip, and no report was taken.

– A 911 caller requested officers in the 100 block of Rustic Drive for a fight and a squad for a 7-year-old female having an anxiety attack. A report was taken on disorderly conduct.

– A resident in the 100 block of East Franklin Street reported neighbors were yelling and screaming at each other. A report was taken.

– A resident in the 300 block of South Pickaway Street reported someone got into his garage and stole his lawn mower. A report was taken on burglary.

– A caller reported juveniles were shooting off fireworks at Ted Lewis Park. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Ohio Street reported a vehicle driving recklessly back and forth on the street. The district officer was advised.

– A resident in the 400 block of Half Avenue reported a male subject going door to door attempting to sell electric service. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– An officer took a report on child endangering in the 300 block of Walnut Street when he arrived at the address in an attempt to serve a warrant.

– A resident in the 400 block of Clinton Street reported the neighbors had been fighting loudly. Officers advised the scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of Rustic Court reported her granddaughter left the house after being released from jail and was making suicidal statements. The officer on the scene advised the resident to call back when the female returned.

– A resident in the 200 block of North Washington Street reported her ex-spouse had been taking things from the residence. All parties were advised it was a civil issue.

– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of Rustic Drive. The call was canceled when the vehicle left the area.

– A resident on Tower Court reported an adult and kids were being loud outside for an extended period of time. The officer advised the subjects of the city ordinance for noise.

– Officers responded to a narcotics complaint in the 400 block of North Scioto Street.

– A resident in the 900 block of South Court Street reported juveniles setting off fireworks in the area. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Apple Ridge Apartments on Lancaster Pike. The vehicle checked OK.

July 10

– Officers assisted the probation department serving a misdemeanor warrant in the 100 block of Francene Court. An arrest was made by probation officers.

– An employee at McDonalds reported a car was parked in the lot and alcohol was possibly being consumed. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 700 block of South Court Street after a caller advised a suspicious person was knocking at the residence and banging loudly, possibly trying to gain entry. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle on Sharon Road. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A caller reported a possible active fight in the 200 block of Town Street. Officers advised the male subject left prior to their arrival.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported an accident on Route 22 east of Bolender Pontious Road in which three young males who were in the vehicle fled on foot. Officers followed up at the address of the vehicle’s owner but were unable to make contact. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was advised.

– A 911 caller reported a female was sitting on a barricade near the bridge on U.S. Route 22 West outside the city with a knife hanging around her neck. The call was transferred to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, which then requested mutual aid for a female who was now off the barricade but had been tazed. Circleville medics arrived on the scene to assist.

– A caller reported three young males were walking along the roadway on Lancaster Pike shoving each other into traffic, and the caller almost struck one of them. The males were located at Sutherlands. The registered owner of the wrecked vehicle from earlier on Route 22 advised he contacted the Ohio State Highway Patrol about the incident, and the males were advised to stay out of the roadway.

– A caller reported a male subject in an apartment at the rear of a business in the 1000 block of North Court Street reported his bank card had been stolen. Officers advised there would be no report. The male just had questions about a prior report.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident at Sutherlands on Lancaster Pike.

– A caller reported two male subjects urinating on playground equipment at Smith Park on Maplewood Avenue. Officers located the subjects and advised everything checked OK and everything at the park was dry.

– A 911 caller reported he needed an officer to help him get his vehicle, though he was unsure of his exact location or where the vehicle was. A Berger Hospital employee stated the caller was OK and would be advised to deal with his vehicle once he was released from the hospital.

– A 911 caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly eastbound on Franklin Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident near the Savings Bank on North Court Street.

– A resident in the 200 block of South Washington Street reported someone had used her husband’s bank card without permission. A report was taken.

– A caller reported he could see smoke in the area of Pickaway Street but was unable to give a location. Officers on the scene advised a Rumpke truck was smoking. The scene checked OK.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 500 block of Tower Court after a resident reported her vehicle had been broken into overnight. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 700 block of South Washington Street reported a group of juveniles acting suspicious in the middle of the roadway. Officers were unable to locate the juveniles.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 200 block of North Court Street after a caller reported they were having a birthday party and discovered items missing from the yard.

– A caller reported suspicious activity in the area of the 1200 block of Eastwood Drive. The caller did not want extra patrol, just to make officers aware.

– A caller reported juveniles were causing trouble and using profanity in the 100 block of East Mound Street at Trinity Lutheran Church. The officer on the scene advised all parties agreed to share the playground equipment.

– An officer stopped in the area of Union and Pickaway streets with two loose dogs. The dog warden was contacted but then advised to disregard after the dogs were returned to their owner.

– An officer traveled to the Franklin County Jail to take custody of Douglas Danford on a warrant.

– A resident in the 500 block of Spring Hollow Road reported a branch snapped in the back yard of the residence but was still attached to the tree, and she was not sure if it was a hazard or not. Officer on the scene advised it was not a hazard.

– A caller reported an unknown liquid in the roadway in the 1200 block of Norfolk Avenue. Officers advised it was not liquid, just a change in the color of the pavement.

– Narcotics were discovered during a traffic stop in the area of North Pickaway Street at Johnson Road. A traffic citation was issued, along with two misdemeanor citations for possession.

– An employee of Elsea’s Mobile Home Park reported a resident believed someone tried to break into a trailer in the 200 block of Parklawn Drive. Information was obtained.

– Officers responded to three reports of fireworks being set off in the area of Washington and Union streets. Officers reported the block of was advised of city ordinances.

– A resident in the 300 block of Walnut Street reported he was trying to leave but his wife would not allow him to gather his belongings. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A caller reported a female was screaming violently at children in the 300 block of East Mound Street. The officer advised there was no disturbance. A special needs juvenile ran out of the house into the street, and his mother was getting him back inside.

– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of Ruth Avenue. The scene checked OK.

– A caller in the 800 block of South Washington Street advised she was very depressed and needed someone to talk to. The officer on the scene advised the subject checked OK.
