Roye Elise Roush

Roye Elise (Gregg) Roush, age 95, of Orient, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Monterey Nursing Home, Grove City.

She was born on March 26, 1920, to Joanna (Mistele) and Roy Martin Gregg in Kansas City, Missouri.

She met her husband, Don C. Roush Jr., in Kansas City. Together they lived in Boulder City, Nevada, and then moved to the Roush homestead in Gahanna.

Roye Elise transitioned from being a “city girl” to a farm wife with true grace. Roye Elise and Don moved to Orient in 1956 to continue the family tradition of farming. Roye Elise was a long time secretary at Orient State Institute until her retirement.

During their 70 years of marriage, Roye and Don traveled extensively in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. They were blessed to become “snow birds” and part-time residents of Fort Myers Beach, Florida. They resided in Bayside Estates, where they spent 30 wonderful winters with friends and visiting family members.

Roye Elise will be remembered for her love of life and ever cheerful disposition. She loved flea marketing, music and living life to the fullest.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don C. Roush; and sisters, Gloria Hansen and Carolyn Binnell.

She is survived by son, Roy (Judy) Roush; and daughter, Nancy Peterson, both of Orient; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held with Rev. Edwin Martin officiating. Please call for arrangements with the Spence-Miller Funeral Home, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to the Harrisburg United Methodist Church.
