Circleville Police Reports

June 5

– A resident came to the police station to report his child’s grandmother had approached him at Duke and Duchess, yelling at him and spitting in his face. The officer advised no assault occurred, and the resident was advised regarding a civil issue.

– Tonya J. Ramey of Stoutsville was arrested for OVI following a traffic stop in front of Dollar General on Lancaster Pike. The stop came after reports from Speedway that a woman was intoxicated and stumbling all over the store, causing a disturbance.

– A resident in the 900 block of Clinton Street reported his uncle came to his residence, kicked the door in and stole his truck keys. A report was taken on burglary.

– A resident in the 100 block of West High Street called 911 to report someone was trying to break into a vehicle or shed behind the residence, and there were additional subjects in front of the residence. Officers checked the area, but they were unable to locate anyone. The scene checked OK.

– An employee of Pickaway Metropolitan Housing called 911 reporting they inadvertently set off an alarm, but everything was OK. Information was obtained.

– A resident in the 1200 block of Turner Drive reported neighbors burn trash, and large ashes blow all over her yard. The subjects were advised of the city burning code.

– A resident in the 100 block of West Ohio Street requested to speak with an officer regarding a child custody issue. No report was taken.

– A caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly southbound on Clinton Street from East Ohio. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– The Circle Area Humane Society requested an officer in the 400 block of East Ohio Street, reporting a resident would not open the door for them but would for an officer. Officers were unable to get anyone to answer the door.

– A 911 caller reported a male appeared to be disoriented and was walking on the center line of North Court Street in the area of Speedway. Officers located a male in the area, but he checked OK, and no one was walking in the roadway.

– A resident came to the police station to report an ongoing neighbor dispute in the 300 block of South Court Street regarding thick, black smoke from a diesel truck. The officer made contact with the other party, and a report was taken.

– A resident in the 100 block of Francene Court reported her neighbor had friends over who were causing problems and threatening her. A report was taken on a disturbance.

– A resident in the 400 block of Clinton Street reported her 12-year-old son was being unruly and knocked some things over in the house. A report was taken on an unruly juvenile.

– An officer from the Adult Parole Authority requested an officer meet him at the Berger Hospital emergency room to transport a person being discharged to the Pickaway County Jail.

– An employee from Eye Specialists of Ohio on U.S. Route 23 reported a customer was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot, irate because his appointment was canceled because he arrived late. The male left prior to the officer’s arrival, and a report was taken on disorderly conduct.

– A resident came to the police station to report a male subject in the 400 block of South Pickaway Street comes out of his residence in his underwear on a daily basis and tries to give her children candy and asks them to come inside his home. The resident was advised.

– A caller reported a young male juvenile was driving an ATV four-wheeler up and down the alley in the 200 block of East Franklin Street at a high rate of speed. Officers were unable to locate the juvenile.

– A Florida resident reported he was threatened by a male subject who said he was going to come and damage the caller’s vehicle. Officers determined the incident occurred in the county, and the caller just wanted the incident documented in case his vehicle is damaged.

– A caller reported two vehicles pulled up to a residence in the 100 block of McCrea Avenue, and several people got out, ran to the door and began beating on it and cursing loudly. The vehicles then left the scene. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Franklin Street reported her estranged husband had their children and was refusing to return them.. The resident was going to wait a few hours to see if he brought them to her before filing a report.

– An anonymous caller reported a male and female in the parking lot at McDonalds who appeared to be under the influence. The officers made contact, and both subjects checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of Town Street reported someone was driving a go-cart down the road. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call from Genesis Healthcare on Atwater Avenue. The scene checked OK.

– An Amanda resident reported a group of juveniles were sitting in the roadway and not moving for traffic on York Street. The officer advised the juveniles not to sit in the street.

– A resident in the 500 block of South Scioto Street reported his neighbor was cutting into his fence while cutting trees around the property. No report was taken, and the subject was advised it was a civil matter.

– A caller reported a vehicle was driving on the old railroad tracks behind Beaver Alley. Officers were advised to be on the lookout.

– A resident in the 700 block of South Court Street reported his neighbor was drunk and being loud. A report was taken on disorderly conduct.

– A resident in the 200 block of Lee Court reported finding what she believed were drug abuse instruments. Officers located and disposed of the items.

– Officers assisted the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office with a warrant arrest of Craig Stewart at AEP on U.S. Route 23, Lockbourne.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Dynahoe on East Main Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 500 block of Mowrer Road reported a neighbor was harassing them. Officers determined there was no harassment. It was an issue with a neighbor causing a disturbance earlier.

– Officers responded to another activated alarm at Dynahoe on East Main Street. The alarm company advised to cancel due to receiving the proper code.

June 6

– A caller reported a known subject was stealing multiple items from the rear of Rural King on U.S. Route 23. The vehicle was gone when officers arrived. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 200 block of West Water Street reported juveniles were outside playing basketball and being loud after they had been advised several times by officers to keep the noise down. The subjects were advised of the noise ordinance and agreed to go inside.

– The dispatcher received four calls regarding a male stalking a female in the 300 block of East Mound Street and getting into a physical altercation with another subject because he wouldn’t leave her alone. A report was taken on disorderly conduct by fighting.

– A resident reported she had property in a storage unit, and her ex-boyfriend was threatening to set it on fire. The resident decided to cancel the call and would call back if she needed to speak with someone.

– A caller reported a female was struck in the head with a beer bottle by a known female subject at Wit’s End on West Main Street. The fire department transported the victim to Berger Hospital, and a report was taken on assault.

– A resident in the 100 block of Nicholas Drive reported she arrived home to find a male with no shirt on leaning over her chain link fence. When she backed out of her driveway, she said the male walked between her house and the neighbor’s house, and she requested an officer to look for him. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area, and the resident was advised to call if he returned.

– A 911 caller requested to speak with an officer about her 17-year-old daughter being jumped on East Mound Street earlier. Information was obtained.

– A caller reported a known female subject was stumbling around inside the Main Street Pub on West Main Street, and he was concerned she was going to be driving. All units were advised.

– Jerry L. Carpenter of Lima was arrested on outstanding warrants and for disorderly conduct by intoxication after he was discovered passed out on the porch of a residence in the 400 block of East Union Street. Officers discovered the male when a caller reported she returned home to find her house was on fire. She advised she put the fire out but requested a report. The fire department also responded to the scene.

– Hanley D. Davis was arrested for domestic violence at Berger Hospital after a caller advised he had been involved in a domestic dispute in the 300 block of Walnut Street.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 400 block of Northfield Drive. The call was canceled by the alarm company.

– An employee of the city Parks and Recreation board requested an officer tape off an area of playground equipment at Mary Virginia Crites-Hannan Park due to unsafe conditions. The information was forwarded to the service department.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 100 block of Plum Street. The alarm was accidental.

– A caller reported a property damage hit-skip accident in the 1200 block of North Court Street.

– A resident in the 1100 block of South Pickaway Street reported he was bitten by a neighbor’s dog when he tried to retrieve it after it got loose. He advised it did not break the skin, and he did not require medical attention. The dog’s owner was advised to keep the dog on a leash.

– A resident in the 200 block of East Main Street reported his neighbor was dumping trash in the back alley. A report was taken on theft.

– A caller reported he saw a resident in the 400 block of South Washington Street with two brand new bicycles he said he found in the trash. Officers advised the subject checked OK.

– Kevin Cross of Westerville was arrested for domestic violence after a 911 caller reported a male had attacked his daughter in the 1300 block of North Court Street.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Ohio Street requested extra patrol after he came home from work and noticed someone had tried to pry open his window and left footprints in the flower bed. The caller advised no damage was done, and no one had gained access to the residence. All units were advised.

– A resident in the 400 block of Watt Street reported someone had cut her car tire two nights before. A report was taken on criminal damaging.

– A resident in the 500 block of Spring Hollow Road requested an officer speak to neighbors about not driving four-wheelers on the street. The resident was advised.

– An officer was flagged down in the 300 block of Walnut Street for a report of a domestic dispute. A report was taken.

– Officers responded to a parking complaint in the 200 block of Logan Street.

– A resident from The Plains near Athens came to the police station with a firearm that was possibly stolen from Waverly. The firearm was entered as stolen through the Waverly Police Department. A report was taken on an agency assist.

– A caller reported a yellow motorcycle had been driving recklessly up and down the railroad bed on Abernathy Avenue near East Union Street all day. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– A resident in the 500 block of North Pickaway Street reported her 16-year-old daughter was being unruly because she was not allowed to go to a friend’s house. A report was taken on a domestic dispute. The resident later called to advise the juvenile was still causing problems. The juvenile was advised regarding her conduct.

– A 911 caller reported he was following a vehicle driving erratically and in the wrong lane of traffic on Route 188. Officers conducted a traffic stop and advised the driver had been talking on his cell phone and not paying attention. He was advised.

– A resident in the 100 block of Dunmore Road reported a male pulled up in front of the residence and threatened him with a crowbar. A report was taken on aggravated menacing.

– A caller reported she was following a vehicle from Williamsport into the city, and it had been all over the roadway. Officers located the vehicle, and the juvenile driver showed no signs of impairment. He was advised of his driving habits.

– An officer marked out with an occupied vehicle at the rear of Circleville Elementary School. The parents of both juveniles were contacted, and a report was taken on a curfew violation.

June 7

– A 911 caller reported an injury accident on U.S. Route 22 at state Route 674. The caller was transferred to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

– A resident came to the police station to report someone was being assaulted at Court and Main streets. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– Brittany N. Saunders was arrested for possession of narcotics after a 911 caller reported she was passed out in a white van at Duke and Duchess on East Main Street.

– A 911 caller reported someone kicked in the door to her cousin’s apartment in the 200 block of West Main Street and was getting ready to fight a male. All subjects involved were intoxicated, and a report was taken on criminal damaging.

– A resident in the 200 block of Pearl Avenue reported a money issue with a known female subject. No report was taken.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Taco Bell on U.S. Route 23. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 800 block of Maplewood Avenue reported a dispute with a neighbor over a vacant lot between the two residences. Both parties were advised to have no more contact.

– A caller reported a male was assaulting a female in the 100 block of Walnut Street. Officers were unable to locate the subject, and a report was taken on assault.

– A resident in the 300 block of South Court Street reported someone had vandalized his vehicle. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 600 block of South Court Street reported someone had attempted theft from her vehicle. She said nothing was taken or damaged, but she had the subject on video.

– A caller reported a male was riding an ATV up and down the street in the area of Edgewood and Sycamore Street. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– A resident in the 300 block of Weldon Avenue reported a caller from Columbus was calling his girlfriend trying to sell her pills. Officers advised there were no threats, and the caller was trying to interrupt correspondence between his girlfriend and a third party.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office advised Pickaway Township Fire was requesting mutual aid for a 1-year-old drowning victim in the 11800 block of state Route 56 East after the squad was disabled. The child was transported to the hospital.

– A caller reported someone had stolen money from her purse and several other purses during a birthday party in the 100 block of Logan Street. A report was taken on theft and consent to search of nine vehicles.

– A resident in the 100 block of York Street reported a domestic dispute between her son and daughter-in-law. A report was taken.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Mound Street reported her neighbor’s vehicle was blocking her into her parking spot. Officers on the scene advised the vehicle was not blocked in. All parties were advised.

– A 911 caller reported she was locked in her bathroom and a pipe had burst, and she was frantic, advising she was going underwater. Officers on the scene advised the pipe in the bathroom burst, but the caller was not in the bathroom. The water department and landlord were advised.

– A resident in the 200 block of Watt Street reported items had been stolen from her yard. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 100 block of Fairview Blvd. reported someone was shooting air guns or bb guns in the back yard. The subject was advised.

– A 911 caller reported a known female subject had stolen a curling iron and make-up in the 600 block of East Mound Street. A report was taken on disorderly conduct.

– A 911 caller reported the fire department was needed in the 800 block of South Washington Street for a possible house fire. The fire department advised it was a malfunctioning light fixture.

– A resident in the 300 block of Town Street reported he had been in an altercation with a known subject. A report was taken on disorderly conduct by fighting.

– A 911 caller requested the fire department in the 300 block of Sunset Drive. The fire department advised there was no fire, just smoke. The fire department handled the scene.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 300 block of Pontious Lane due to juveniles coming onto the property and turning electricity off to several buildings.
