HARRISON TOWNSHIP – An Orient man came away with just minor injuries Friday night after crashing his motorcycle on state Route 104 at Route 316.

Jacob M. Spohn, 25, was transported to Mount Carmel Grove City by Scioto Township EMS after the accident that occurred about 9:53 p.m., according to Trooper Jeff McNamara, Ohio State Highway Patrol.

McNamara said Spohn was traveling northbound on state Route 104 on his Yamaha motorcycle when a southbound vehicle made a left turn in front of him to head eastbound on Route 316.

He said Spohn basically laid the bike down to avoid a collision, and the other vehicle never stopped.

“I’m not sure they even realized anything happened,” McNamara said. “They obviously didn’t see him when they turned in front of him, and they may have been unaware of the crash.”

He said Spohn was lucky and suffered only minor injuries in the accident.

The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
