Janice E. Rittinger, 76, of Circleville, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, May 21, 2015.

She was born on Dec. 27, 1938, in Warrenton, Virginia, to Clifton and Matilda (Shaver) Lunceford.

She was a 1957 graduate of Warrenton High School, attended Crossroads Church, enjoyed church activities and family gatherings, was an avid reader and taught Sunday school for many years at Emmett Chapel Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rosco and Lawrence Lunceford.

Janice is survived by her husband of 57 years, Marvin Rittinger; sons, David and Doris (Koch) Rittinger, William and Lydia (Boldoser) Rittinger and Paul Rittinger; daughters, Elaine and Glen “Chip” Follis, Amy Poorman and her fiancĂ© Tom Royster; grandchildren, Benjamin, Lindsay and Maggie Rittinger, Samantha and Mallory Rittinger, Seth Follis, Emily Rittinger, Nicholas (Kayla Martin) Poorman, Alex and Abbey Poorman and Brooklyn and Matthew Rittinger; great-grandchildren, Kellin and Judson Poorman; and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the Wellman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library (Kingston Branch), 140-146 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, Ohio 45601; or to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
