Karl Porter Myers, age 81, of Circleville and Ashville, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by his daughter, Candy; son, Karl (Naomi); granddaughter, Tika; and great-grandson, Matthew Ford.
He was born May 2, 1936, in Ashville, to the late William C. and Rosa Payne Myers.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruth E. Myers; brothers, William, Johnny, Ralph, Harold, George, Orville and Russell Myers; and sisters, Thelma Pennington, Rosemma Kitchen and Cleora Cordle.
Karl worked as a Core Maker for 30 years.
He loved to meet with all of his deaf friends, and he loved his family. He had four children, Becky (William) Hawkins, Candy (Charles) McGowan, Karl (Naomi) Myers and Rona (Larry) Ison. He loved fishing, and he loved all of his grandchildren, Troy, Christopher, Charlie, Jay, Joeie, Tika, Chad, Tyler and Kelsey; and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Susie Ayers of Circleville; and one brother, Walter of North Carolina.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville. Funeral service will be on Thursday, May 18, 2017, with interment following at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield with Pastor Jim Ferrell officiating.
